The teachers who taught the major courses did not guide as with novice students. They either have taught many times same course n thought students were the same students, or they just expected students come to learn because they have already known. I had no teacher come to class on my very first week. No guide to program installations or hands on practise. Just throw new learners into the pool they will unless refuse to learn themselves, then let them walk back out because they are not kids. The teachers failed to teach in systemactic approach nor expertise in the tactics.
Review for Computer Programming at Seneca College
Co-ops will definitely prepare you well for your future career, make sure to aim for "Outstanding"
Review for Computer Science at University of Waterloo
You get two degrees, so your skill set covers a wide range of topics, but the computer science department is lacking
Review for Business Administration and Computer Science at Wilfrid Laurier University
A deeply disappointing experience. I feel like I’ve wasted years of my life on this program, and I wish I had spent my time more wisely. From the beginning, you're taught outdated material tools and technologies that have long been irrelevant to today’s job market. Nothing is aligned with current industry needs. Then? Then you find yourself under immense pressure, with endless and unrealistic workload expectations. Countless hours of work, and for what? And then? You face a number of extremely poor professors. Some of them are shockingly unqualified, clearly unfamiliar with what they’re teaching. So much time is wasted in lectures that offer no real value. And then? The biggest shock comes with the co-op term. That’s when you realize everything you studied is practically useless in the real world. You’re being taught tools from the 1990s yes, the 90s! The entire program is severely outdated. Out of nearly 100 students in our cohort, I know of only one who got a co-op. And he had prior programming experience before coming here. Without that? Good luck finding a job. And then? Don’t even try to complain. No one listens. Don’t bother asking for help. You won’t get it. Please don’t take this program. It’s a massive waste of time.
Review for Computer Programming at Algonquin College
Good balance of theory and applied learning. Big international student body with good support outside of the classroom.
Review for Bachelor of Commerce at University of British Columbia
First, second and a bit of third semester can be hell. It is very manageable if you can organize your time well to finish your assignments, projects, and labs. And most importantly, you should take care of yourself. Take breaks in between.
Review for Computer Engineering at University of Guelph
Great school, a great fun program. Got me work experience and I received a return offer.
Review for Business Administration at Wilfrid Laurier University
Great program, great location and great people.
Review for Law and Politics at University of Windsor
Everything is by yourself. Read the textbook, then take the exam. If you want help, you have to call the support line, get a random person and they "help" you with a question in the module. No homework. No teacher. You must teach yourself.
Review for Electromechanical Engineering Technician at George Brown College
When you want help, the professors tell you to Google it, rather than help or teach.
Review for Computer Programming at Durham College
First of all, Master's of Engineering (MEng) in Industrial Engineering does not allow international students to enroll in Engineering Management stream, although falsely advertise it on their web page. BEWARE of this scam tactic to lure more and more internationals to get their tuition money. Secondly, ISO (Ignorant Sh!t organization) does not care about international students and show their ignorant attitude if you visit their place for any kind of support. Tatiana Gomez is awful, and you better switch her to someone else. Thirdly Co-Op institute does nothing to help you land a job, and charges HUGE fees for you to be enrolled in their useless coop system. Lastly, university staff and professors are underqualified and does bare minimum to keep their positions, because entire engineering department is understaffed. As an example, Concordia's MEng Industrial Engineering program offers short list of courses over and over limiting other courses that ARE LISTED ON THEIR website. What does it mean? It means that only 3-4 people will teach you different courses. Overall the experience is awful, and AVOID this university at all costs.
Review for Industrial Engineering at Concordia University
utilize the professors as much as possible
Review for Criminology at Wilfrid Laurier University
This program and the program lead have been extremely disappointing. The program lead will tell you that your concerns will not benefit your education but may make a difference in the education moving forward. The instructors are seemingly just as frustrated. Classes are a literal joke; it's year three, and we BARELY talk about children or youth. Course material is extremely repetitive.
Review for Child and Youth Care at University of Victoria
If you value your mental and physical health and want to speak with sane and rational professors do not under any circumstances go to this institution, some professors will make it bearable but 9/10 times you will be disappointed and will want to pull your hair out, and there aren’t many avenues to Universities in Toronto you have to look 2 hours away
