Poor Experience Poor Professors Courses Were Okay Very Heavy Work Load Awful Admin Support

Unfortunately, my time here has been marked by a significant disconnect between the institution's priorities and the actual needs of its students, particularly those from abroad. While the university places heavy emphasis on its reputation, often showcasing its high-profile acquisitions (such as the multi-million-dollar investment in a facility that only a few top-tier institutions like NASA have), the reality on the ground is quite different. The focus seems to be more on marketing these achievements to the outside world rather than ensuring that current students, especially international ones, receive the support and opportunities they deserve. For instance, many engineering students struggle to secure co-op positions, which are essential for building practical experience and improving employability. Despite having state-of-the-art facilities, the lack of meaningful connections to the industry and effective career support is a glaring issue. This is compounded by the feeling that international students are seen more as a source of revenue than as individuals who need real support in navigating their academic and professional paths. It’s frustrating to see the university prioritize external prestige while neglecting the internal needs of students, many of whom are paying substantial fees for an education that often doesn’t align with the promises made during recruitment.
